Okay, so today was cool. We spent pretty much all of our time in the chapel because of interviews with the President. Kill we were in the chapel from 11 to 5 but I didn’t mind. Herman Clayton taught us a bunch of stuff and interviews with the president were super cool. He also chose me randomly to come and help give a blessing to one of the hermanas in my district and that was pretty cool. He straight up asked me as we were walking if I was worthy to do this blessing and i was like, “uhhh, I sure hope so.” Even though we didn’t teach or contact today, it was a good day. Maybe it just feels good to go a day without rejection.

Today was strange, but also good. It was like a half of a p-day. Today we learned that one of our best investigators has to leave our area for his work and go to another where there is no LDS chapel. Even with that, it was still a good day because we started teaching the wife of our of our investigators who has already been reading the Book of Mormon. We also made some really good contact and had a good family home evening with the Ramirez family.

We have some awful luck sometimes. We found a really great person to teach and today we learned that they have to leave Manzanillo on the first of December. I don’t remember much else about today because that one thing sort of dominated and disappointed.

Today is Thanksgiving in the USA. It was awesome in many ways despite the fact that we didn’t teach much. A member brought us a feast to celebrate. Chicken, rolls, corn on the cob, mashed potatoes, apple juice, tortillas and a cake with a can of whipped cream. I was so impressed by their thoughtfulness considering our holiday. The Mexican people are very generous and kind.
We did get to teach Indeliza today. We talked about her upcoming baptism and she still has some reservations about it. We talked about 2 Nephi 31 and I think that it helped her a little bit.

Today we spent all of our time with less active members. We also ended up giving 3 blessings today, so that was interesting. One of the less active members was super sick and I guess has been for more than a year. The doctors put some sort of sac next to her stomach that she has to fill with water twice a day and then the fluid goes in and out of her abdomen. I don’t know what it is for, but she is pretty sick. She was saying something about how her kidneys don’t work properly, or at all. I don't know, my medical Spanish is pretty bad. If anyone down here finds out that my parents are doctors, they assume that I have inherited some sort of medical expertise and they ask me for my advice. Like, this lady showed me an Xray of her lungs because she found out that my dad is a radiologist. I just have to tell everyone that I don’t know a thing about anything. Also, every calls me rich which I really hate. The next place I go to will not know a thing about my family.

Okay, so the white handbook says that I should never say anything bad about the area that I serve in or the people. So I will just say that Mexico is a wonderful, super safe place, and that the people are all cool and have no problems….. No, but seriously I have to write this down because I don’t want to forget about it. We were walking to go talk with and investigator at his shop but he wasn’t there. There was a guy smoking a super long cigarette with a beer in his other hand just sitting outside. He started talking to us and at first it was a normal conversation that we get as missionaries. But as we started talking a bit more, he asked us if we could teach him the Word. He lives super close to the shop where we are teaching our other investigator so we just sat down in his yard and straight asked him what he wanted to learn about. He paused and asked us how he could change and be a better person. So we said a prayer right there and started teaching the gospel of Christ. He opened up his life and tildes about his problems and how much he wanted to change. he wants to be able to provide and bless his family but he spends too much of his money on drugs and alcohol. While we were talking I could see the tip of a giant knife in his pants. It was as long as his thigh. I asked him about it and he said that it was because people try to cut off his fingers or hands and he has it to defend himself. This guy was surprisingly sharp and yet he is so mixed up in the drug scene that I am not sure what to do. He seems to have a sincere desire and the courage to change.
The second thing that was cool today was that we went to a baptism today and one of our investigators went to watch as well.
